Dunbarton, South Carolina
A Visit in 2008

A small group of former residents visited the site one occupied by Dunbarton
before it was displaced in the 1950s.
The site is located within the high security area of the Savannah River Site.

An aerial photograph, map, and coordinates of the Dunbarton site are shown here.

The site of old Dunbarton is now a small cleared area (in the center above with coordinates), the remains of some streets, and most of the building and home sites occupied by large trees.

After being issued badges, going through a security check, turning in cell phones and cameras, the group was transported by bus to this location on the outskirts of old Dunbarton.
